What are the newest Sandals Resorts?

Sandals has a number of exciting new all-inclusive resorts, giving you plenty of fresh options for your next vacation. For the all-inclusive resort company, the lineup of more recent Caribbean resorts includes Sandals Grenada, which opened in 2014, Sandals Barbados in 2015, and Sandals Royal Barbados in 2017. Fast forward to 2022, and Sandals Royal Curaçao and the refreshed Sandals Royal Bahamian were added to the mix. In 2023, the highly anticipated Sandals Dunn’s River opened to rave reviews, while the beachfront Sandals Saint Vincent is the newest gem to join the Sandals Resorts family. 1. Sandals Saint Vincent (opened 2024)

Uniquely innovative, Sandals Saint Vincent shines as a star in its own right. Blending social and active experiences with exquisite accommodations and awe-inspiring views, this resort is quickly becoming a favorite for many. Opening its doors in May 2024, the resort emerged onto the vacation scene in signature Sandals Resorts fashion, aiming to please. With 11 restaurants, 5 bars including swim-up bars and magnetic beachfront views, Sandals Saint Vincent is a jewel of a find in the islands.

Located on the Eastern Caribbean island of Saint Vincent (south of Saint Lucia and north of Grenada), standout accommodation options at Sandals Saint Vincent include the iconic two-story Overwater Villas and the Beachfront Butler Villas, the latter with its own private pool. Land and water sports options are plentiful including sailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, volleyball, shuffleboard, and more. Sandals Dunn's River is located on Jamaica's north coast, near Ocho Rios. This resort is one of the most recent additions to the Sandals Resorts portfolio, opening in 2023. There are 260 rooms and suites at Sandals Dunn's River including the much-anticipated Coyaba Sky Swim-Up Rondoval Butler Suites with Private Pools. Sandals Dunn's River has 12 restaurants and 9 bars including a swim-up bar. 4. The all-new Sandals Royal Bahamian (reopened 2022)

Sandals Royal Bahamian is a great choice for anyone who wants to make the most of a Caribbean vacation. This resort was completely renovated and reopened its doors in 2022. The update was one of Sandals’ 40th anniversary milestones and included the construction of new beachfront swim-up butler and club level suites. These suites are ideal for honeymooners or just about anyone looking to spend their vacation soaking in the warmth and relaxed ambiance of the islands.

As part of Sandals Royal Bahamian’s offerings, there are new culinary concepts at the 10 restaurants and two new food trucks available on property. Butch’s Island Chop House Restaurant and the nearby Mr. B’s bar are both recent additions that guests can enjoy while staying at this resort. During the upgrade, several other special elements were added throughout the resort located on one of the most spectacular beaches in The Bahamas, Cable Beach.

If you plan on staying at Sandals Royal Bahamian for your next vacation, keep in mind that the accommodations are pretty diverse. The Island Village is a stand out and consists of standalone villas, each named after a remote Bahamian cay. Within the butler villa suites at this resort, you'll find private pools and outdoor Sandals Soaking Tubs. The resort's East and West Bay accommodations were also recently revamped. 5. Sandals Royal Barbados & Sandals Barbados (opened 2017 / 2015)

Sandals Barbados and Sandals Royal Barbados opened in 2015 and 2017, respectively. Sandals Royal Barbados is the only Sandals Resort with a rooftop pool and bar and its own bowling alley. Both Sandals Royal Barbados and Sandals Barbados are located in St. Lawrence Gap, Barbados. It takes around 20 minutes to get to these resorts from the Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI).

The seven restaurants at Sandals Royal Barbados reflect the resort's refined but easygoing vibe. A total of eleven dining spots can be found within Sandals Barbados. As part of the Sandals Stay at 1, Play at 2 exchange program in Barbados, guests at both of these resorts have access to the facilities and dining options of the other resort.

Sandals Royal Barbados has a rooftop French restaurant, La Parisienne, and an infinity pool that guests love. Guests at Sandals Barbados adore the Merry Monkey Pub, the lively central pool and swim-up bar, as well as the island-inspired accommodations and courteous butlers. At Sandals Barbados and Sandals Royal Barbados, guests can enjoy private Sandals Soaking Tubs on most patios and terraces, day and night entertainment, land and water sports, and much more. Butlers and Rolls-Royce transfers (for that extra special arrival touch!) are also available at both of these resorts.

6. Sandals Grenada (opened 2014)

Sandals Grenada made its debut in 2014 and was introduced as the ‘Sandals of the future’ - it’s still living up to its promise to this day.

Sandals Grenada is located on Pink Gin Beach in Grenada. It’ll take about five minutes to get to this resort from the Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND). Spending your Grenada vacation at Sandals Grenada is a good idea if you're looking for a vacation that’s social and active with plenty of low-key, intimate moments .

Sandals Grenada is one of the best Sandals Resorts for honeymoons and for scuba diving vacations as well. This resort is loved for its amazing restaurants like Soy Sushi Bar. With sushi made fresh daily and attentive service, it's a top choice for dining at this resort. Cucina Romana, an authentic Italian restaurant, is another popular dining option at Sandals Grenada. In total, there are 10 restaurants at this resort that you'll be able to explore during your stay.

There's still a few things to note before heading off to your Sandals Grenada vacation. Aside from the diversity of flavors available at the restaurants, guests also love the swimming pools, including the swim-up pool bar. Other options include the “party pool” for some upbeat moments, or one of the more chill quiet pools. For a laidback tropical escape complete with amazing views, look to the Pink Gin Beachfront rooms. Expert tip: While in Grenada, it can be worth it to take a day or two away from your resort to see the sights. During your vacation, you can arrange half-day or full-day excursions that leave from Sandals Grenada.

Sandals Resorts with recent renovations

Sandals Resorts place just as much importance on reimaging existing resorts as they do on opening new properties. Recently renovated resorts in the region include Sandals Montego Bay, Sandals Royal Caribbean, and Sandals South Coast. All of these resorts have undergone multi-million-dollar renovation projects which have overall enhanced the experience guests can look forward to during their all-inclusive vacation.

Sandals Montego Bay

Sandals Montego Bay in Jamaica got a shiny new makeover in 2018. This included the addition of new room offerings, a redesigned and cozier lobby, and a state-of-the-art conference center that can accommodate up to 300 people. In addition to that, several new culinary concepts were introduced. Butch’s Steak and Seafood, the Jerk Shack, and Soy Sushi are among the newest additions to this resort's dining options. Latitudes, the resort’s Overwater bar, is also new. The cantilevered hammocks and underwater lighting at this bar are guaranteed to add a dash of romance to your getaway.

Sandals South Coast

Life is chill at Sandals South Coast, and even more so now with the renovation of the Longbeach Buildings, previously known as the French Village. With captivating beachfront views, these suites make it easy to fall into the rhythm of Jamaica. New additions include swim-up rooms on the ground floor, a selection of butler suites, and exterior tubs in all rooms.

The Rondoval Village is also among the recently renovated rooms and suites at this resort. Notable features include a private deck, high conical ceilings, spa-style bathrooms, a Sandals Soaking Tub for Two® and other stand out elements. There’s also a river pool around the suite that winds its way through the property. Sandals South Coast has Sandals’ longest river pool (17,000 sq. feet), so this is definitely an experience worth having!

The Starlight Building, previously the Dutch Village, is also on the list of recently renovated accommodations at Sandals South Coast. There are 112 rooms in this village. There’s also new swim-up rooms and suites including butler level options, as well as beachfront luxury level rooms. The Starlight Building’s club level rooms have Sandals Soaking Tubs™ for two and either an expansive balcony or a private patio with swim-up pool access. With either option, you’ll be well on your way to a relaxed and indulgent vacation.

Sandals Royal Caribbean

In 2021, it was announced that Sandals Royal Caribbean in Montego Bay had added 48 new luxury rooms and club level swim-up rooms to its inventory. The new categories available to guests include the new Crystal Lagoon Hideaway Swim-up Club Level Jr. Suites, and the Crystal Lagoon Hideaway Jr. Suites.

The addition of these new options took Sandals Royal Caribbean to a total of 280 rooms overall. Booking one of the tropical and tranquil club level suites provides access to the Club Sandals lounge and concierge services. In addition to new rooms, Sandals Royal Caribbean also added three new restaurants in recent years, namely Spices (pan-Caribbean cuisine), Bombay Club, (Indian cuisine), and La Tavola (Italian cuisine).
